Our frogged facing bricks feature a large rectangular indentation on one face, known as the frog, which is filled with mortar during laying to aid bonding. Our perforated facing bricks have two teardrop‑shaped holes running through the brick, designed to ensure correct installation and consistent performance. Both the indentations and perforations reduce the overall weight of the brick without compromising strength. In our range, frogged bricks have a smooth finish, while perforated bricks have a textured finish.

Stonehurst facing bricks are manufactured and tested to BS EN 771-3:2011+A1:2015, the British Standard for aggregate concrete masonry units. They are produced in the traditional UK brick size of 215 x 100 x 65mm, making them easy to specify and install alongside standard brickwork. All bricks are CE and UKCA marked

For Stonehurst facing bricks, movement joints should typically be positioned at 7.5 to 9 metre intervals on two-storey and taller buildings, with closer spacing recommended for single-storey construction. The length-to-height ratio of any brickwork panel should also not exceed 3:1 to help control the risks of cracking.
