Concrete Bricks

Concrete bricks are masonry units made from aggregates, cement and water, designed to provide strength, durability and consistent performance. Available as facing, common and engineering bricks, they offer solutions for visible façades, general construction and demanding structural applications.

Concrete bricks offer a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to clay, with lower carbon emissions during manufacture, consistent dimensions and excellent durability. They also provide reliable colour consistency, reduced waste on site and shorter lead times through UK manufacturing.

Building with concrete bricks is similar to using any other construction material. However, it’s crucial to use the appropriate mortar grade and adjust its consistency to account for the density and relatively low suction rate of concrete bricks. Ensuring the bricks are kept dry will further reduce the risk of “floating.”

A facing brick is designed to remain visible, combining structural performance with an attractive finish, colour and texture. A common brick is used where the brick will not normally be seen, such as internal walls or areas that will be rendered or plastered, while an engineering brick is designed for demanding applications requiring higher strength and lower water absorption.
