Rivermead Leisure Centre benefits from both Brett Landscaping’s striking Invicta Moonstone product and the breadth of expertise from our Commercial team.

Client: Reading Borough Council
Product: Invicta Block Paving

The Project:

Brett Landscaping, a leading supplier of paving products, has been selected to provide its Invicta Moonstone Block Paving for use at the brand-new Rivermead Leisure Centre. The project involves the development of a six-court sports hall, a soft play area and a café. The wet facilities, including the 25m pool and a teaching/diving pool, will open in summer 2024.

Located in Reading, Reading Borough Council has invested more than £40 million to improving leisure facilities across the borough as it looks to enhance the accessibility of sports facilities for everyone’s benefit.

Craig Woodward, GLL’s Partnership Manager, said: “GLL, alongside our partners Pellikaan and Reading Borough Council, are all working at pace together to bring forward these state-of-the-art leisure facilities that will be the envy of the Thames Valley.

“With an emphasis on accessibility and affordability, the new leisure complex will support the health and well-being of thousands of residents, young and old – getting more people more active more often.

Brett Landscaping was crucial in developing the leisure centre, providing 1605m2 of Invicta Moonstone in 200×100, 200×200 and 200×300 plan sizes.

The Solution:

Brett Landscaping were chosen for the project due to their extensive support and the ability to provide a robust, aesthetically pleasing paving solution, Invicta, for the complex’s development.

Beautifully Engineered, the Brett Invicta range uses a specially formulated AggTech® surface layer developed to deliver high performance with a stunning, individual aesthetic. Its surface layer is formed of premium granite aggregates. It is incredibly hardwearing, enabling it to be protected from extreme weather conditions, all while being able to retain its vivid, brighter colours.

Invicta block paving is available in both 80mm single and 60mm TRIO packs to allow flexibility in your design, and the concrete block paving itself is manufactured to comply with British Standards.

Invicta granite pavers can be used for domestic and commercial use, hardstanding for vehicular and pedestrian pavements, including footpaths, cycle tracks, driveways, adoptable highways, and commercial pavements. The Brett Landscaping range successfully addressed the challenge of heavy-duty footfall areas. It provided a striking, welcoming entrance to the brand-new Rivermead Leisure Centre, ready to welcome people into the complex.
