The purpose of the project was to create flexible logistics space in a 21-acre site located near Peterborough. The industrial units varied in size, with areas of 94,225 sqft, 139,915 sqft, and 240,830 sqft, resulting in a total of 474,970 sqft of space. The project aimed to achieve net-zero carbon in construction and target a BREEAM “Excellent” rating. It included features such as photovoltaic arrays covering more than 40,000 sqft and 48 electric vehicle charging points.
The project was undertaken by Glencar Construction, with UMC Architects initially appointed by Firethorn Developments Ltd and subsequently novated to support Glencar Construction. The work began in Q1 of 2022, with a planned completion date in Q4 of 2023.

Testimonial from Carl Harrison, Interlock Paving:
“We were very impressed with the quality and finish of the paving supplied by Brett. Colours were consistent and sizes consistent, allowing for crisp straight lines in the finished product. Deliveries were on time and as requested. This enabled the smooth running of the project and timely handover to our client. We would have no hesitation to use Brett’s quality paving products on future contracts and can highly recommend them to others. The price point and quality are extremely competitive in todays market, where budgets call for value engineering but not at the expense of the finished product”.
The Brett products provided a solution to the project’s requirements by delivering the desired aesthetics and performance while offering cost savings compared to the originally specified Marshalls products. Moreover, Brett demonstrated the availability of their products within the required time frame, enabling the site team to meet their installation targets. At the end of the project, Glencar Construction requested Brett to collect the empty pallets rather than disposing of them as site waste. Brett agreed to this request and planned to reuse the pallets where possible, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and waste reduction.
