Brett Approved Installer Diamond Driveways’ “Diamond SOS” initiative – Helping Families Who Need It Most

We are absolutely delighted to be sharing our premier Brett Approved Installer Diamond Driveways’ “Diamond SOS” initiative.

Diamond Driveways recognised that the Covid pandemic caused issues for so many, especially those who had to shield themselves due to susceptibility to life-threatening illnesses. The team at Diamond Driveways decided they wanted to do something to help others and set up their “Diamond SOS” initiative.

They wanted to provide a new driveway – for free – to a family who could really do with an improvement in their home, making their lives that little bit easier.

Diamond SOS – Layla’s Story

Layla is a girl who suffers from FASD. While more than 400 conditions can co-occur, FASD is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition at its core. FASD is a spectrum, and each person with FASD is affected differently. However, all people with FASD have many strengths.

Layla also has cystic fibrosis – an inherited condition that causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. This causes lung infections and problems with digesting food. Symptoms usually start in early childhood and vary from child to child, but the condition worsens over time, with the lungs and digestive system becoming increasingly damaged.

Brett Landscaping’s Involvement

Diamond Driveways, who have been a valued member of the Brett Approved Installer scheme for 9 years, installed a driveway that is great for access, looked good and meant that the family’s driveway is now free of bumps and obstacles that get in the way of Layla’s wheelchair.

We were delighted that Diamond Driveways chose our Brett Omega block paving range in Charcoal, creating a beautiful space for Layla and her family and adding kerb appeal to the family’s home.
