Our Earthworks division has been in operation since 1989 developing a strong portfolio of clients, particularly within the waste and construction materials industries.  Our expertise lies in the following service areas for the South East.

  

 

 

Landfill Engineering

We have many years experience of landfill engineering, providing void space from excavation works or engineered clay bunding and liners.  Composite liner systems are installed with protection layers and leachate drainage facilities to protect waterways and land from contamination. 

 

Gas Infrastructure Works

After the cells are full they are capped with clay and restoration soils to predetermined profiles.  This stage often incorporates gas extraction systems to pipe the gases emitted from the landfill to power generation facilities.

 

Provian is an approved Gas Infrastructure installer for Viridor Waste Management. The company has a team of trained operatives, proficient in butt fusion and electrofusion welding and fully compliant with Viridor waste Management’s Quality Assurance procedures. 
 

Quarry Works

The complete Service is offered here from Archaeological surveys and the removal of soils and overburden (from gravel and sand deposits) to complete quarry restoration. 

 

Restoration works are offered at such a high level that some sites receive restoration awards from bodies such as the Sand and Gravel Association and the EEC.

 

Coastal Defence Works

Provian Construction offers a comprehensive service within the sensitive coastal environment dealing with many aspects of coastal defence strategies including beach replenishment works, movement of rock armour and dealing with beach material once placed on the foreshore.

 

Site Clearance & Demolition Works

• Removal of contaminated soils
• Recycling of suitable materials following demolition works 

 

Site clearance, demolition works and recycling of suitable materials resulting from these works (when required for cost efficiency) are all additional services provided by our Earthworks team. 

 

Such operations often require the removal of hazardous and contaminated materials, which require correct handling and disposal to licensed facilities. We work closely with the Environment Agency preparing detailed method statements and risk assessments - vital to the protection of the Environment.

We carry out amenity works for Local Authorities and County Councils such as Cycle Paths and Footways predominantly where there are considerable earthmoving requirements involved within the scope of works.
